Led by Alex, an experienced instructor with a diverse background in dance, our goal is to guide you on a journey towards a balanced and fulfilling lifestyle. Meet Alex, Founder of Mindful Motion
Alex is the heart and soul behind Mindful Motion, dedicated to promoting wellness and joy through movement. Growing up in Bend, Oregon, she discovered her passion for dance early, starting ballet, tap, and jazz classes as a child. Her love for movement grew, and by age 9, she had her own home dance studio where she hosted summer dance camps and recitals, showcasing her entrepreneurial spirit from a young age.
With over 14 years of formal dance training, Alex competed in various styles and served as the captain of her high school dance team. She also trained as a figure skater before embracing the roller skating community, leading her to the dynamic art of roller dance, which she has practiced for the past 4 years.
Alex holds a Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology and worked as a Marine Biologist in Hawaiʻi for the past 10 years. Her love for the ocean and marine life complements her passion for dance and movement, creating a unique and holistic approach to wellness.
Beyond dance and marine biology, Alex enjoys scuba diving, free diving, hiking, camping, meditating, paddling, running, and spending time with animals. Her diverse interests and experiences contribute to her well-rounded perspective on health and wellness.
Alex's experiences taught her the importance of community, connection, and inclusivity, leading to the creation of Mindful Motion. Here, she integrates meditation, dance, and roller skating to promote health and happiness.
As a Mindful Motion Mentor, Alex is committed to cultivating values of diversity, freedom, and fun, helping others discover their rhythm and joy in motion.
